This is a fascinating prompt as we often incorporate experiences and vibes from TV media into our games. Some games, like Deathmatch Island and Pasión de las Pasiones, do this explicitly. Walking Dead and Star Trek are TV shows, and their play should transport the table to their televised setting. We saw Tales from the Loop on Amazon, a show based on the same book of art that inspired the RPG.
I want a game that structurally allows for multiple episodes and seasons. It needs layers and branches to explore and expand. I looked over my shelves, and one candidate almost jumped out and bit me.
Why don’t we have a Night’s Black Agents television show? Conspiracy, espionage, action, horror, season-finale-worthy reveals? Each season peels back another layer of the pyramid. Adding or killing off cast members without losing the through line would be easy. As I write this, I am amazed we don’t already have this in the works or on Max.
