One of the goals of Third Floor Wars is to bring the Malifaux community professionally-produced video battle reports. We have the team together and the third floor is ready to film our first one tonight. An epic battle between the two top players in the Carolinas conference – Jimmy Molini and Alex Schmid.
It may take several weeks to produce but we believe it will be worth waiting for. What do you want in a video battle report?
Work begins on a commission of Sandeep for Larry Mottola. Lost a bet and it is time to make good. I decided to prime him brown. Red is the dominant color so a brown undertone works. Did the eyes (so tiny) and blocked out the beard, energy and where the OSL will hit. Next is the face then the beard. Stay tuned for more WIP pics and paint recipes.
**Update – Finished the flesh – next up the beard
**Update – Head finished – next up pants and skirt
Editor’s Note: Fresh from the podium of the 2018 Capital City Meltdown, Larry kicks off a new series at Third Floor Wars: Ways to Lose Less. I had a bet with Larry based on the number of games I’d lose at CCM. If I won the bet, Larry would write an article for us. If he won, I’d paint a model for him. Larry won the bet (shocker) but was kind enough to write the article anyway. Like most of the top players in Malifaux, Larry is generous with his knowledge and lessons learned. There is gold in this article. His insights on cheating and your control hand alone makes this a worthy read. Enjoy!! Continue reading

Followers likely saw my tutorial on painting undead flesh HERE. The rest of the model is now done. He ended up a lot busier than I expected. Between the stark contrasts of the black metal and the colorful skin tones he is a lot to take in visually. I may of been better off with a simpler metal scheme.
Now I move to painting up a second set of Mindless Zombies (because Nico). Catch you at the Paint Desk! Continue reading
